BLASCHKE, Kenneth R. Kenneth R. Blaschke, 71, husband of Margaret "Peg" (Palauskas) (Rutkauskas) Blaschke of Carmel Dr., Prospect died Saturday morning (September 25, 2004) at the Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Blaschke was born February 21, 1933 in Bristol, son of Helen (Maieski) Blaschke of Bristol and the late Kenneth G. Blaschke. He was a service dispatcher for Northeast Utilities for over 45 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War having served in Germany with the 43rd National Guard. He was an avid woodcarver, bowler and reader. He was a member of the Bonsai Club and the Gwiazda Polish Folk Dancing Group for over 20 years. He danced at the New York's World's Fair in 1964. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. Besides his wife of Prospect and his mother of Bristol, he is survived by a son, Kenneth R. Blaschke, Jr. of Southington; a step-son, George Rutkauskas of West Dover, VT; three brothers, Robert W. Blaschke of Carthage, NY, Richard A. Blaschke and David A. Blaschke both of Bristol; three grandchildren, Erek, Amanda and Brenden Blaschke all of Southington; his daughter-in-law, Teresa Blaschke of Southington; several nieces and nephews. A military funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 29, at 10:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd., Rt. 69, Prospect to St. Anthony's Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Div., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004 or the V.N.A. Hospice, 50 Brookside Rd., Waterbury, CT 06708.
