Obituary Condolences

SCHOEN, Jacob "Jake" "Jack" J. Jacob "Jake" "Jack" J. Schoen, 69, of Tolland, husband of Frances "Fran" (Moyer) Schoen, died Saturday, (November 13, 2004) at Rockville General Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Jacob and Mary Schoen and was a Tolland resident for 28 years. He was a communicant of St. Matthew Church, a Minister of Hospitality, was chairman of the maintenance committee, and a member of the St. Matthew's Couples Club. Jack loved gardening, UCONN Women's Basketball, and the time spent playing in the Vernon Seniors Softball League. Besides his wife of 44 years he is survived by his son, Mark and wife, Dawn of Tolland; daughters, Teresa (Schoen) Calaci and husband, Joseph of Vernon; Linda Schoen of Colorado; Christina (Schoen) Bagdasarian and husband, Timothy of Coventry. He was so proud of his five grandsons whom he loved dearly, Michael and Matthew T. Schoen, Christopher Calaci, Matthew J. and Cole Andrew Schoen. He is also survived by his brother, John Schoen and his wife, Emma of Florida; and his cousins, Robert and Betty Schoen, John and Loretta Schoen. Friends may gather on Wednesday, November 17, at St. Matthew's Church, Tolland, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Tolland. Friends may call at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd., Rte. 195, Tolland on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., for a celebration of his life.
