TREICHEL, David G. David G. Treichel, 59, of Wethersfield, died Friday, (January 28, 2005) at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Roberta "Bobbie" (Galvin) Treichel. Born in Waterbury, son of Herman Treichel of Wethersfield, and the late Gladys (Lehr) Treichel, he graduated from Wethersfield High School Class of 1963, where he played varsity football. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Rochester and certification in Medical Technology from St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He received The Army Commendation Medal for distinguished and exceptionally meritorious service in support of military operations against communist aggression in the Republic of Vietnam. Mr. Treichel retired from the State of CT Health Dept. where he worked as a Microbiologist for many years. Besides his father, he leaves his sister, Patricia T. Moreno and her husband, Ernest of Los Angeles, CA; his nephews, Jeffrey Flood and his wife, Paramjit "Pam" and Theodore "Ted" Flood. David also leaves his aunt, Olga Grant of Naugatuck and his cousins, Marilyn Schiaroli and her husband, Richard and their daughter, Adrienne, of Naugatuck, Mary Yule Tatman, of Rio Rancho, N.M. and William Yule, of Santa Barbara, CA. He also leaves his sisters-in law, Roxann Robinson and her husband, Gary of East Windsor, and Renee Galvin, of Minneapolis, MN and his step-son and step-daughter, George Caye, III and Rhonda Caye-Totedo both of Marlborough; and three step-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2 p.m. at the funeral home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington with the Rev. Michael McDowell officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
