Obituary Condolences

Brendan J. Begley, 81, of West Hartford, husband of Joan (Fitzgerald) Begley, died Sunday, (May 5, 2002) at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford. Born in Ballincnockane, Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland, August, 21, 1921, son of the late Jeremiah and Johannah (Garvey) Begley, he resided in the Hartford area for many years. Prior to retiring, Brendan was employed by the Catholic Cemetery Association at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, in Bloomfield, for over 30 years. He was a life member of the Irish American Home in Glastonbury and the Hartford Gaelic Football Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John F. and MaryBeth (Kearney) Begley of West Hartford; his three beloved grandchildren, Shealagh, Bridget and Brendan Begley, all of West Hartford; and his three sisters, Nora B. Guay of West Hartford, Angela B. O'Keefe of Wethersfield, and Lillian B. Sheehan of Rathkeale, Limerick, Ireland; a dear sister-in-law, Veronica Fitzgerald of Dingle, Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave., Hartford, TODAY, 4-8 p.m. Funeral Procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday, 9 a.m., followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mark The Evangelist, 467 So. Quaker Lane, West Hartford, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
