Clement C. "Bud" Meyer

Obituary Condolences

MEYERC   Clement C."Bud" Meyer, 78, of East Hartford died Thursday, (May 9, 2002) at Hartford Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years Rita (Leonard) Meyer. He was born in Rockville, son of the late Max J. and Loretta (Shea) Meyer. He was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran, and a long time communicant of St. Isaac Jogues Church, East Hartford. Mr. Meyer was the owner and president of Quality Foods, Inc. servicing the northern half of Connecticut for 20 years. He was also owner and president of Educational Fundraising, Inc. from November 1977 until his retirement in June 1998. During this time he organized many fundraising events for Hartford schools. Bud was an avid golfer who loved the sport and the people he played with. He was a graduate of East Hartford High School Class of '42 and was heavily involved for the last ten years, organizing reunions, trips, and get togethers. All of his high school classmates were very special to him. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 14, the Neutral Corner of East Hartford and the World Series Club of Newington. He is survived by a beloved daughter, Carol Ann Meyer of East Hartford; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Tina Meyer of Tolland, who were very special to him; an aunt, Lillian Blinn of Rockville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his special pal, Winkie. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Muriel Meyer. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 14, 9:45 a.m. from the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main Street, East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Broad Street, Manchester. Calling hours are Monday, May 13, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community Street, East Hartford, CT 06108 or to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
