Elizabeth Custer

Elizabeth (Dewart) Custer, 87, of Concord, NC, formerly of Manchester and Tamarac, FL, widow of Harry R. Custer, died Sunday, (August 12, 2001) in North Carolina. Born in Manchester January 12, 1914, daughter of the late George and Jane Dewart, she was a Manchester resident, attending Concordia Lutheran Church, before moving to Florida in 1977. She returned to Manchester in 1980 after the death of her husband and moved to North Carolina in 1995. Prior to retiring, she had been employed at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in East Hartford for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Eileen Zabka of Concord, NC, and Kathleen Bryant of Vero Beach, FL; two sons, Henry Custer of Vero Beach, FL, and David Custer of Australia; two sisters, Edith Mulryan of Glastonbury, and Georgena Bell of North Truro, MA; a brother, William Dewart of Connecticut; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 10 a.m., in the Buckland Cemetery, Tolland Turnpike, Manchester. There are no calling hours.
