Obituary Condolences

DeLUCCO, Frank J. Frank J. DeLucco, 86, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Frances (Libretto) DeLucco for 56 years, passed away Thursday (March 1, 2007) at Hartford Hospital after a long illness and with his family by his side. Born in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Angelina (DeBella) DeLucco, he was a 1939 graduate of Weaver High School where he lettered in baseball, basketball, and football. Frank was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 106th Quarter Master Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1983. Frank was a kind, caring man who will be greatly missed, especially by his family. In addition to his wife Frances, he is survived by his son, Joseph DeLucco and his wife Mari-Beth of West Hartford; brother, John DeLucco and his wife Helen of Wethersfield; sister, Marie D'Onofrio and her husband Anthony of West Hartford; son-in-law, Jeffrey Byko of West Hartford. His grandchildren, Zachary Byko, Gabrielle Byko, Mia DeLucco and Joey DeLucco of West Hartford were the pride and joy of his life. Frank also leaves a niece, Pamela Keiffer and her husband David of Virginia; and a nephew Michael D'Onofrio of Florida. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted daughter, Corinne (DeLucco) Byko; brother, Richard DeLucco; and a niece, Diane (DeLucco) Petrelli. Frank's family extends their sincere thanks to all the caregivers from New England Home Care, especially his nurse, Robin and caregivers, Debbie, Freddie and Alma, who helped make it possible for him to be at home for the duration of his illness, and to the nurses and staff in the Cardiology Unit C-10 Center at Hartford Hospital for the support and compassionate care they provided Frank in his final days. Calling hours are Monday 4-8 p.m. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home on South Main Street in West Hartford. Funeral procession will be leaving Taylor & Modeen at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of Saint Timothy, North Main Street, West Hartford. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Saint Timothy, North Main Street, West Hartford, CT.
