Francis Ortyl Obituary

ORTYL, Francis J. Francis J. Ortyl, 85, of Vernon and beloved husband of Ann (Woronecki) Ortyl passed away, Saturday, (March 10, 2007) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 24, 1921 in Rockville to the late Charles and Hedwig (Tynek) Ortyl. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Rockville and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Francis was proud to be a volunteer for the Vernon Ambulance Corp. in the 70's and retired from Rockville General Hospital. He was a person would loved the great outdoors and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and woodworking. Besides his wife Ann, he is survived by two sons, Richard F. Ortyl and his wife, Brenda of Ellington, Mark E. Ortyl and his wife, Anna of Silak, WA; a daughter, Margaret Ortyl of Belmont, MA; two grandchildren, Richard C. Ortyl of Enfield, and Luke T. Ortyl of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by a brother, William Ortyl; and two sisters, Josephine Balden, and Mary Petroceles. A funeral procession will form by 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm Street, Rockville follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Rockville. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday morning prior to the funeral mass.
