Obituary Condolences

VIOLETTE, Roland S. Roland S. Violette, 74, of Mansfield, beloved husband of Theresa (Soucie) Violette, passed from this life on Monday, (March 12, 2007) after a period of declining health. Born in Van Buren, ME on April 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph S. Violette and Laura (Laferriere) Violette. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver by Gordon Fruit, and later by Natural Country of Ellington for 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Rocky Hill. He was a strong and dedicated man and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Along with his wife, Mr. Violette is survived by his children, Marie Violette, Kimberly and Austin Schultz, Roger, Russell, Laura, Phillip, Eddie, and Brian Violette; his grandchildren, Nicole Violette, Steven and Heather White, Kevin Flint, and Chris, Shannon, and Erica Violette; and great grandchildren Taylor and Jaden; and many close nieces and nephews. He also leaves a brother June Violette of Van Buren, ME. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10 a.m. for the procession to St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The committal service will follow with full military honors in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 15, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
