Obituary Condolences

KANE, Edmund J. Edmund J. Kane, 90, of Farmington, formerly of Nassau County, NY, husband of Violet (Tully) Kane, died Sunday (July 8, 2007) at his home. Born October 31st, 1916 in New York, NY son of the late Edmund J. and Anna (Connors) Kane Sr. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Preparatory School, Fordham College and Fordham University School of Law, Army veteran of World War II, rising from rank of 2nd Lieutenant to Major during active service from July 1941 to February 1946 and retiring as Lieutenant Colonel, USAR in 1976. Edmund was a lawyer for over 50 years, an active horse back rider for over 80 years and was a director of riding for the handicapped programs. He is survived by his four daughters, Eileen (Johannes) Verhaeg of Port St. Lucie, FL, Patricia (Robert) Eichorn of Hilton Head, SC, Mary Ellen (Richard) Thibodeau, Esq., of West Hartford, and Dr. Barbara (Dr. Keith) Campbell of Lake Oswego, OR; and one son, Edmund J. (Susan) Kane Jr. of Buffalo, NY; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville, on Friday, July 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 14 at 9 a.m. in the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington. Burial with full military honors will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
