Obituary Condolences

Helen Holden, 79, of East Hartland, beloved wife for 25 years of John E. Holden, passed away on Tuesday, (April 1, 2003) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Wesley C. and Marguerite (Davis) Brass, she had lived in Granby for many years before moving to East Hartland 25 years ago. In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing with her husband, decorating around her home and taking care of her family. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Richard Voudren and his fianc e Kathleen of Mystic, and Robert Voudren and his wife Mary of Strasburg, PA; three grandchildren, Andrew Voudren, Jennifer Prokop, and Linda Kaan; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert W. Brass. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7, 1 p.m., at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby, with the Rev. Mark Diters officiating. Burial will be in Granby Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Her family will receive friends 12 noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
