Charles Wesley Shook
Charles (Chuck) Wesley Shook, 66, passed away following a stroke on January 1, 2014. Chuck was a resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the time of his death, but spent most of his life living in the Jackson area. A memorial service will be held at Parkway Heights Methodist Church, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at 3:00 on Saturday, January 4, 2014, with visitation at the church beginning at 2:00 prior to the service.
Chuck was born on March 21, 1947, in Greenville, South Carolina, to Laura McWhite Shook and Paul Wesley Shook. He graduated from Provine High School in 1965. A member of the United States Marine Corps
for two years, Chuck served in Viet Nam for thirteen months. Following his discharge, Chuck attended The University of Mississippi and later earned a B.S. Degree from Mississippi College in 1974. Chuck's career was primarily in outside sales and the trucking industry. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family,
Survivors include Chuck's mother, Laura McWhite Shook, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; one son, Jonathan Wesley Shook, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and his wife, Susannah Meng Shook; four grandchildren: Meredith Caroline Shook; Anna Jane Shook; Paul Wesley Shook, and a soon-to-be born baby girl; three sisters: Norma Shook Grahl, Athens, Georgia; Nancy Shook (Sonny) Hargrove, Black Mountain, North Carolina; and Anita Shook (David) Johnson, Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Chuck is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
