Mary Helen "Auntie" Bonner, 98, of Hattiesburg, died February 20, 2013 at Bedford Care Center in Petal. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg followed by burial in Highland Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. A. "Jim" Bonner; her parents, Gip and Ardel Bryant; and her sisters, Ether Craft, Polly Bonner and Lois McCraney.

Mrs. Bonner was a homemaker and a member of Church of God of Prophesy. She and her husband, Jim, met at the school for the blind in Jackson where Jim was taught to manufacture brooms and mops. The area business missed his excellent craftsmanship. Formerly of 303 Unetta Street in Hattiesburg, Mary and Jim were lovingly known as "Auntie and Uncle" and always had an open door for anyone who needed a place to stay. She was a wonderful Christian lady who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Mahar of Janice Community; three grandchildren, Michelle (Taylor) Baker, Dr. Sabrina (Ron) Jones and Regina (Brian) Vinson; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hankins, Gracie Baker, Colton Baker and Carson Jones; and a sister, Nellie Russell of Raleigh.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 - 9 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
