Rankin L. Lindsey, Sr.
Rankin L. Lindsey, Sr., 83, of Hattiesburg, died November 20, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg from 1 - 3 p.m. with services immediately following. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Lindsey served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War
as a military policeman. He retired from MS Power after 33 years. He was a member of IBEW, Senior Watts and Hardy Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Angie Lindsey; sisters, Mary Martin and Jewel Lindsey; and brothers, Robert, Luther, Shelby and Bill Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife, Dot Lindsey of Hattiesburg; three sons, Rankin L. Lindsey, Jr. of Hattiesburg, Timothy L. Lindsey (Pam) of Oak Grove and Gary M. Lindsey (Susan) of Purvis; two daughters, Beverly Ayn Lindsey of Hattiesburg and Becky L. Abney (Mike) of Madison; brothers, Hugh B. Lindsey (Robbie) of Franklinton, LA and P.J. Lindsey of Prentiss; and grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Adam, B.J. and Kyle Lindsey, Allyn, Evan and Reagan Abney.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
