Ada Lou Bradshaw Trest

Hattiesburg, MS

Ada Lou Bradshaw Trest, 77, passed away after a long illness at MBMC in Jackson, MS.

She was a resident of Clinton until 2007 when she moved to Hattiesburg.

She graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in Laurel, MS, where she was a beauty. She was a majorette for Jones Junior College. She was a wonderful pianist and played by ear. She was a fabulous cook and her career was taking care of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carroll Trest, Sr in July of 2012; her mother, Sarah Emma Rachel Nettles Bradshaw; father, Henry David Bradshaw; step-mother, Melba Stone Bradshaw.

She is survived by a son, William Carroll Trest, Jr. of Jackson, MS; a daughter, Angela Trest Herzog of Hattiesburg, MS; granddaughter, Lauren Herzog; son-in-law, Jimmy; two sisters, Barbara Bradshaw Lamb of Orlando, FL and Sarah Dodge of Pelahatchie, MS formerly of Destin, FL; one brother, Charles Bradshaw (Carolyn) of Raymond, MS. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews as well as her two special childhood friends, Bobbie Jones Wallace of Madison, MS and Recenah Wettle Lucious of Eupora, MS.

Memorials may be made to Homes for Hope for Children in Purvis, MS.

Prayer services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, MS.
