1913 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Mrs. Annie Lee "Ann" Katool

Hattiesburg

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Jones & Son Chapel in Hattiesburg for Mrs. Annie Lee "Ann" Katool, 100, of Hattiesburg and a committal service at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedarlawn Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Annie Lee Katool was born May 3, 1913 in Carthage, MS. She lived in Jackson for most of her life and retired as a bookkeeper. She moved to Hattiesburg with her family in 1995. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Grove. She loved to discuss and read the bible with her long-time friend, Mr. Jesse Stuart and most recently, with her friend and neighbor, Mr. Gary Lamkin. She enjoyed murder mystery novels and could speed-read through several novels in week. It was a challenge to keep her stocked with books that she hadn't already read. She loved seafood, especially good oysters, but most of all she enjoyed playing cards with her family such as rummy, "U"no, and skip-bo for hours at a time. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Citie".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob K. Katool.

Mrs. Katool is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ann Hester of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Robert R."Bobby" Hester, Cindy Patterson, and Michael Hester; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Bailey, Lauren Tucker, Blake Hester, and Kristen Flahdrena; and great-great grandchildren, Sophia Grace Hester and Madeline Tucker.
