Charles Edward Greer III (1916-2013)

Charles Edward Greer passed to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2013.

C.E., as he was known, was born on April 28, 1916 in Konawa, OK.

He was the second child of six born to Charles and Lena Greer. He had five brothers, Hansford, Arby, Glen and Elton Ray, and one sister Carlene.

On June 4, 1939 C.E. married his longtime girlfriend Athalee Jacklin. They had two sons, Frank Leon Greer and Charles Edward Greer IV .

After many years and promotions at the Coffeyville Refinery, the family relocated to the south, due to Athalee's health. C.E. was hired by the Pontiac Eastern Corporation in Purvis, Ms. During these years he also helped Athalee with her Real Estate Business. He retired from the refinery in 1978.

After his retirement he and Athalee turned their endeavors to serving their Lord in Mexico with the Assembly of God Church. They worked side by side building and remodeling churches and working in the orphanages. He continued this work until his final years.

C.E. and Athalee celebrated their 73rd anniversary in 2012, before her passing on December 4, 2012.

He is survived by his sister, Carlene Downey of San Antonio, TX.; his sons, Frank (Sandra) and Charles IV (Barbara); granddaughter, Sarah Greer Miller (Eric); grandsons, Charles Edward V (Sweetie) and Frank Joseph Jacklin Greer. The light of his life were his great grandchildren; Charles Edward Greer VI and Abigail Grace Greer.

The one goal that C.E. set in his life was to live as a Christian and set this example for his family and friends.

Services will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, March 1, 2013 at Rivers of Life Church, 1425 Carterville Road, Petal, MS with visitation beginning at 2:30 PM.
