Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Main Street Baptist Church for Mr. Edgar "Eddie" Carlton Stephenson, age 67, who died June 13th, 2014, at Forrest General Hospital.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Stephenson was a wonderful husband and father, a man of honesty and integrity. A successful businessman, he was admired, trusted and loved by his clients. He loved his church and his church family, having been a member of Main Street Baptist Church for thirty-nine years. He gladly served as a deacon, choir member, Sunday school teacher, and member of many committees, spending the past ten years serving in the TV Ministry of Main Street Baptist.

Mr. Stephenson was employed by State Farm Insurance Company for over forty years. His career with State Farm began in Birmingham, Alabama, moved him to Monroe, Louisiana and finally settled him in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as an agent.

He was many things to many people and touched so many lives with his Christian example. He had a multitude of friends who knew that they could always count on him. He loved his family with all his heart and was a great provider and leader for them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

No one could ever replace him in the heart and lives of his friends and family.

Mr. Stephenson is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Carlton Stephenson; his parents, Paul Stephenson and Johnnie Stephenson Hazel; his maternal grandparents, Carson and Ruby Roper and his paternal grandparents, Neal and Jessie Stephenson.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Pigg Stephenson; two sons, Jordan Tyler Stephenson and Logan Christian Stephenson; a sister and brother in-law, Paula and Ed Hunter of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces and nephews Debbie Everhart, Denise Thomas and Ted Davis, all of Birmingham and Jerry Pickering of Jackson, Mississippi as well as numerous cousins.

Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Sunday at Main Street Baptist Church.
