James Wilber "Webb" Sims

Sumrall, MS

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at First Pentecostal Church of Sumrall for James Wilber "Webb" Sims, 75, of Sumrall, formerly of Laurel.

He died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital.

Interment will be in First Pentecostal Church Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the VFW Post 3036 Honor Guard.

"Webb" retired from the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. He was a cattleman and an avid foxhunter. He was a walker hound breeder and trainer. Webb's life was his church, family, and friends of many. He played football at MS State University, was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Sumrall and was a US Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, I.V. and Portia Sims.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Gatwood Sims of Sumrall; three sons, Stanley Sims of Ackerman, MS, Stephen Sims of Laurel, MS and Kevin Sims of Hebron, MS; two daughters, Denise Olson of Jacksonville, FL and Stacy Sims of Sumrall; a sister, Dean Soley of Laurel and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at First Pentecostal Church of Sumrall.
