A military graveside service for Mr. J.B. Baty, 86, a resident of Hattiesburg, MS and former resident of York will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11 A.M. from the Sumter Memorial Gardens in Cuba with Rev. Bobby Brewer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at Bumpers Funeral Home in York.
Mr. Baty passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Hill Hospital in York, Alabama. He was a retired service manager for Haney Ford Company in York and a U.S. Army World War II Veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Baty received a purple heart and bronze star for his service to our country.
Survivors include his son David Michael Baty, Sr. (Brenda) of Hattiesburg, MS; and grandson David Michael Baty, Jr. (Leann) of Hattiesburg, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean Boyd Baty.
Honorary pallbearers are the men of the York United Methodist Church and Dixie United Methodist Church in Hattiesburg.
Memorials may be made to the York United Methodist Church, Dixie United Methodist Church, or the Methodist Children's Home.
