John M. Pearson, 81, died on Sunday, September 2. 2012 at his home in Hattiesburg. A physician, Dr. Pearson retired from Hattiesburg Clinic, where he practiced internal medicine and cardiology.
After finishing medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1957. Dr. Pearson served as medical officer for Submarine Squadron 6 in the U.S. Navy before joining the Hattiesburg Clinic in 1965. In 1970, he established the Coronary Care Unit at Forrest General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fern Hudson Pearson; parents, Robert Durfee and Willie Watt Pearson; brothers, Robert, Glen, Bill, and Wilbur; and sister, Dorothy (Dot) Walker.
He is survived by his spouse, Betty Roblin Pearson; sons, J. Michael Pearson and his spouse, Ellen of North Bethesda, MD and Daniel C. Pearson of CA; daughters, Jennifer Pearson Adams and her spouse Marvin of College Station, TX, and Margaret Pearson Paul and her spouse Joe of Hattiesburg, MS; stepdaughter, Susan Roblin Oglesbee and her spouse, David of Hattiesburg and stepson, John Paul Roblin and his spouse, Lee; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
