Louise R. Dunigan

Hattiesburg, MS

Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Richburg Baptist Church for Mrs. Louise R. Dunigan, 77, of Hattiesburg.

She died Monday, June 9, 2014 at Regency Hospital.

Mrs. Dunigan retired from USM where she worked in the Printing Center and was a member of the beloved Richburg Baptist Church. Louise was involved with the Special Olympics for many years on local and state levels. She worked many years for the local, state, and national Women's Bowling Association. Even after she could no longer bowl, she stayed active in the bowling association because of the love she had for bowling and the many friends she had made through bowling nationwide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Charles "Moonbeam" Dunigan, Sr.; father, Sid McDermitt; mother, Katie Hobbs; sisters, Lola Johnson, Lou Schrader, and Mandy Burnham; brothers, Johnny McDermitt and Sidney "Shorty" McDermitt all of Hattiesburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Deberah "Debbie" Dunigan and Licha Dunigan both of Hattiesburg; one son, James Charles "Jim" Dunigan, Jr. of Petal; two sisters, Sydney Glenn (Frank) of Petal and Mary Harrell of Elk, WA; sisters-in-law, Virginia Lindholm, Dorothy McDermitt, and Theresa "Sam" McDermitt all of Hattiesburg; several nieces, nephews and loving friends; her two best friends, Doris Baygents of Hattiesburg and Shirley Draughn of Petal.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Thursday at Richburg Baptist Church.
