Malcolm Jones Dunn

Hattiesburg, MS

Malcolm Jones Dunn of Hattiesburg, 78, died September 27, 2013, at his home. Services were held on Monday, September 30, at Maybank Baptist Church at 11a.m. with Bro. Jon David Kittrell officiating. Mr. Dunn was interred at Rawls Springs Cemetery with graveside service officiated by Rev. Jim Windham.

"Mac" or "Jones", as many of his friends called him, was born on December 3, 1935, in Wayne County. Mr. Dunn served in the Air Force for 3 1/2 years and then managed Sandy's franchises in Peoria and Decatur, Illinois, and Pensacola, Florida. He moved to Hattiesburg where he managed Burgertown and The Country & Western Club. He later went to work Offshore where he retired in December of 1979.

Mr. Dunn was an active member of Maybank Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a member of the York Rite Masonic Bodies and a member of Hattiesburg Lodge #397. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his wife and friends. Mr. Dunn also enjoyed going on mission trips with his church.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Lindsey and Alma Lee Jones Dunn; two sisters: Jeanette Anderson and Frances Clark; a brother, Ray Dunn; and one son, Malcolm Keith Dunn.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years (Dec 20), Voncile Fuller Dunn; one daughter, Pamela Gail Posey; one son, Eric Dean Dunn; one brother, Darrell Dunn; four granddaughters: Kelly Dunn, Gloria Posey, Candace Dunn, Megan McCarty; three grandsons: Chris Dunn, Brandon Duke, and Tyler Dunn along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family requests that donations be made in his honor to Maybank Baptist Church, Baptist Children's Village, The , , or St. Jude's.
