Services for Rev. Marvin Daulton Owens, 81 will be held at 11 AM, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. Officiating will be his grandson, Rev. Jarod Needham, along with other minister friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church.
Rev. Owens not only pastored several churches during his ministry but also founded several churches which are still existing today.
Rev. Owens was born on June 22, 1932, in Slagle, LA and entered into rest on Saturday, December 28, 2014 at Heritage Manor South in Shreveport, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amos & Edna Owens, Brothers; Herman, Buford, Douglas & Bruce Owens and a sister; Aline Saunier. Survivors include his loving companion and supporter of his ministry for 54 years; Erma J. Owens of Ringgold, LA, One daughter; Jeanette A. Owens of Shreveport, LA, Two Grandsons; Rev. Jarod Needham and wife Laura of Minden, LA. and Captain Jonathan Needham and wife Amber of Okinawa, Japan. Six great-great grandchildren Valarie, Erika, Keira, Remi, Jaxon & Judah Needham.
Honoring Rev. Owens as pallbearers will be Darrell Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Craig Harville, Steve Middleton, Captain Jonathan Needham and Kevin Poole.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Owens, Berkley Talley, Rick Allen, Freddy Lawrence, Chris Harville, Ronnie Comans, Rudy Basinger, Norman McGuire and Revs. Jerry Duncan, Robert Duncan, Gussie Tynes, Stanley Thrift, Don Privett and Charles Warren.
