Sadie Hortense Warren Faggert

Sadie Hortense Warren Faggert, age 93, passed away May 6, 2012, at Anderson South, Regency Hospital, in Meridian, MS. She was born in the Blackjack Community of Panola County, MS, March 1, 1919 to Thomas Jefferson and Minnie Lee Duke Warren.

Sadie was a wonderful lady who always thought of others first. She was a devoted member of Heidelberg United Methodist Church and the Golden Age Club. She was a homemaker for her husband of 58 years, Walter William Faggert, as well as her children. She loved playing basketball during her school years, and was an avid sports fan who watched basketball and football games on television. She loved cooking for her family, dancing to big band music, and could even play the harmonica.

Walter and Sadie Faggert moved to Heidelberg, MS, from Panola County in 1959 when Tenneco transferred Walter to their newly opened Heidelberg plant as a transmission station operator. They, along with their three children, made Heidelberg their home. They were active members of the community involved in their children's numerous interests.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Faggert; one brother, Jimmy Warren; and sisters, Sue Hudson, Lorene Pickens, and Katie Ales. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Ann and husband, Jimmy Rowell of Hattiesburg, MS; and two sons, William Earl and wife, Susan Faggert of Heidelberg, MS, and Walter Larry and wife, Ruth Faggert of Hattiesburg, MS; five grandsons, Charlton Todd and wife, Tiffany Rowell of Purvis, MS; William Clayton Faggert of Oxford, MS; James Andrew Faggert of Jackson, MS; Mason Warren and wife, Kristen Faggert of Hattiesburg, MS; Nathan Miles and wife, Jennifer Faggert of Prattville, AL; and four great grandchildren, Nathalie and Kyla Rowell of Purvis, MS; and Williams and Warren Faggert of Hattiesburg, MS; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be handled by Memory Chapel, on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 at the Heidelberg United Methodist Church with services following. Interment will immediately occur in the Heidelberg City Cemetery. Rev. Joe Lofton and Rev. Bill Hayes will officiate, and pallbearers will be grandsons and nephew, Keith Ales. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heidelberg Cemetery Association or .
