Dimple Holston Obituary
Dimple Holston

Poplarville

Dimple Holston, 81, of Poplarville, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 at her residence.

Dimple Holston, known to most as Bigmama, went to see our Heavenly Father on April 3, 2014. She was born on Nov. 24, 1932 in Carriere, MS. She lived a full life in her 81 years. We are so blessed to have had her in our life. Most people in town remember her becasue she was the County Nurse for many years and gave everyone their shots. Everyone loved her spirit and her giving heart. When she passed away she was surrounded by her family.

She preceeded in death by her mother and father Mae and Van Loveless, step-mother Louise Loveless, siblings; Cammie Leonard, Ed Leonard, Ruby Donath, Dorothy Mangum, and Van Loveless; husbands Theo Holston Sr. and Curtis Penton, son Theo Holston Jr., grandaughter Sarah Renot, and great-grandaughter Morgan Holston.

She is survived in death by her two daughters Linda Bilbo of Poplarville, Marcia Renot of Wiggins, and daughter-in-law Deborah Holston of Poplarville. She is also survived by four grandchildren Emily Carlisle, Paul Renot, Eric Holston, & Bradley Holston, and she is survived by 12 great grandchildren Rachel Carlisle, Brennin Carlisle, Kate Carlisle, Daniel Carlisle, Tony Renot, Ali Renot, Emma Renot, Taylor Holston, Tyler Holston,Tyson Holston, Tyron Holston, & Erica Holston. She is also survived by two sisters Mary Smith and Thelma Gelis and sister-in-law Barbara Loveless. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who love her dearly.

As people would visit Bigmama in her last days they would tell us stories of how they remembered her and how much she meant to them. Friends remember her wonderful cooking, especially her famous dressing and cornbread, and biscuits her time at the hospital for all of those years as a nurse, being the county health nurse for years, coaching Linda's softball team, and always feeding their friends. One of the accomplishments Bigmama was most proud of, besides her children, was putting herself through college and graduating in the very first nursing class at Pearl River Community College. This always made her so proud. As her health has cleclined she couldn't get out much so she learned how to get on facebook. She wrote about her life and childhood on a daily basis.

Our family is able to take comfort in that Bigmama was not scared to die. She said she knew exactly where she was going. She made sure that we would be okay and she loved us so much. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 7, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Poplarville with interment in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday night, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at White Funeral Home, Poplarville.
