Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Hulett-Winstead Purvis Chapel for Mr. Joe M. Probst, 84, of Purvis.

He died Monday, April 14, 2014 at his residence.

Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Probst was retired helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer serving in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Hattiesburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores S. Probst; father, William Probst; mother, Ruby Probst Strong; two brothers, William Probst, Jr. and Gene Probst; one sister, Marietta Mathews.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Probst McMahon (Sam) of Purvis and Carol Probst Church (Joby) of Pass Christian; one brother, Charlie Probst (Georgena) of Ellisville; seven grandchildren, Michael McMahon (Teri), Joshua McMahon, Leigh Ann Dewease (Keith), Whitney Boswell (Chris), Caitlin Church, Rachel Church, and Mikey Owens; and six great-grandchildren, Angel McMahon, Ann Marie McMahon, Gracie McMahon, Madelyn Dewease, Mason Dewease, and Hadleigh Anne Boswell.

Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 PM Wednesday at Hulett-Winstead Purvis Chapel.
