Jerry Stroupe Obituary
Hattiesburg
Jerry Nelson Stroupe, 68, of Hattiesburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday the 15th of May, 2011. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg followed by burial in Highland Cemetery.
He was born to Nelson and Carolyn Stroupe in Jackson, TN, on the 22nd of November, 1942. Jerry was a loving husband and friend to his wife Linda for 21 years and a loving, understanding father, grandfather and friend to many. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy, was a retired business owner of Mississippi Motors where he served his community for 16 years, and a member of Crossroads Church in Moselle, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Carolyn Stroupe.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Stroupe of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Lisa Gill of Johnston, Iowa and Sandy (Rick) Weatherman of Ankeny, Iowa; three step-children, Kathi (Jason) Williamson, Dan Dettbarn, and Tim (Lori) Dettbarn; eight grandchildren, Daniel (Chelsie) Stroupe, Kolby Weatherman, Jessica Nelson, Sasha Arbabha, Shaida Arbabha, Will Williamson, Makayla Williamson, Joseph Hutchison, Kaylee Dettbarn, and T.J. Dettbarn; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert E. (Nina) Stroupe, Sr. of Houston, Tex.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
