She was a nurse, one of the first head start teachers, sold insurance and was a noted antique dealer. Other than family, she had three passions in life, antiques, animals and her flowers. She ran an antique mall in Hattiesburg for many years and she was also know throughout the sate for her great knowledge of antiques and was always eager to share her expertise. She was a master gardener. She was an avid animal lover all of her life and had many pets. She loved animals and they loved her.
Marvell was a very strong person and taught her children to respect all people, work hard, do the right thing, be honest, be strong and enjoy life. She had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. She enjoyed both the Senior Center and her last home at Azalea Gardens. Her friends will remember her generosity of spirit, her caring nature and her love of life.
