Mrs. Lorena Jordan Wood

Hattiesburg

Lorena I. Jordan Wood passed away on March 1, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, at Jones & Son Funeral Home located at 6842 U.S. Highway 98, Hattiesburg, MS. Rev. Jack Bounds and Rev. Benji James will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Internment will be on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery.

Lorena was born in Sandhill, MS and she moved to Hattiesburg in 1939. She was a very multi talented lady. Her talents ranged from being a Hair Stylist, Real Estate Owner and Artist. Lorena loved to fish and she shared her love of fishing with anyone that would go with her. She was a member of the Hattiesburg Lily Society.

Lorena was a member of First Baptist Church. Through her love of her Christian ministry she touched many lives.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bookout Morgan of Hattiesburg; her son, O.A. Jordan of Hattiesburg; her sister, Agnes Jordan of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Annette Brewer of Richton; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Toxie Wood of Hattiesburg, also her first husband, Alson Jordan; her son, Paul Jordan of Hattiesburg, her sisters, Emily McQueen of Waynesboro, Grace Gray of Waynesboro, Margaret Slade of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Gaston Brewer of Richton and Otha Brewer of Fort Benning, GA.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Gray, Gerald Jordan, Gavin Jordan, James McMahan, Kenneth Drake and Wayne Landers.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lorena may be sent to the Homes of Hope, 344 Harold Tucker Rd, Purvis, MS 39475.
