Philip "Dickey" Davenport
Philip "Dickey" Davenport, 64, of Hattiesburg, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, followed by burial in Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Davenport was a Nurse Anesthetist for 25 years. He worked for both the Methodist Hospital and Forrest General Hospital, and later became a traveling nurse anesthetist. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the VFW and of the Sons of the Confederacy. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Ray Davenport, Sr., and two brothers, Inf. William Davenport and Michael Davenport.
He is survived by one daughter, Dana Coghlan of Purvis; one son, Dax Philip (Jessica) Davenport of Oak Grove; his mother, Shirley Hanberry Davenport of Hattiesburg; one brother, Pat (Sheila) Davenport of Tenn.; four grandchildren, Mary Catherine Coghlan, Anna Grace Coghlan, Blade Peets Davenport, and Easton Ford Davenport; and one grandson on the way, Philip Gordon Davenport.
A Rosary will take place at 5 p.m., Friday, at Moore Funeral Chapel in Hattiesburg immediately followed by visitation until 7:30 p.m.
