Services for Mrs. Beatrice Tanksley, age 88, of Oak Grove, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Hattiesburg chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hartfield-Pine Ridge Cemetery at Purvis.
Mrs. Tanksley was a homemaker and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Mary Ann Randolph Curtis Lee 2583, Purvis, United Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne B. Tanksley; grandson, Gaylon W. Smith; parents, Elias and Florence Lee Whiddon, and three brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat (Gerald) Smith and Celeste (Paul) Young, both of Oak Grove; her sister, Gloria Christensen of Oak Grove; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Tanksley will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
