B.E. "Bill" Carney

Hattiesburg, MS

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Mr. B.E. "Bill" Carney, 81, of Hattiesburg, MS, who died, Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Forrest General Hospital.

Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, with military rites performed by the VFW Post 3036 Honor Guard.

Mr. Carney was retired from Pfizer, Inc. after 37 years as a manufacturers' representative. He was a member of Dixie Baptist Church. Mr. Carney was a 32nd Degree Mason, a Shriner and Past President of the Hub City Shrine Club. He was the Genie who led the Shriners Oriental Band in area parades for many years, a long time member of the B.P.O.E. Elks 599 and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. "Tobe" Carney and Linnie Mae Carney; one son, Robert E. Carney, and his first wife, Martha Carolyn Carney.

Mr. Carney is survived by his wife, Judy Carney of Hattiesburg; a son, Bill Carney of Hattiesburg; a brother, Jim Carney of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren, Carolyn and James Carney and one great-grandson, Gage Harrison.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.
