Adams, Hershel  
Hershel Adams, 91, of Jeff, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Hazard Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late Pearl Adams and late Maggie Campbell Adams. He is also preceded in death by one son, Stevie Adams; one sister, Gladys Doan; and four brothers, Delphus, R.B., Carnel, and Saul Adams. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Riddle Adams; one son, Ricky and Nadine Adams; two daughters, Joanie Adams, and Missy and Steven Fugate; one sister, Becky; two brothers, Felix and Pearl, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Eric Adams, Kendra Huber, Erin Adams, Nikki Stanfill, Devin Fugate, Jody Fugate, and Jaylon Adams; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Adams, America Adams, Haley Adams, Max Dixon, and Finley Huber; as well as a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, where family received friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, and funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, with Danny Dixon officiating. Interment was at the Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff.

Brashear, Ruby  
Ruby Brashear, 95, of Perry County, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden. Arrangements were handled by the Brashear-Callahan Funeral Home in Viper, where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, and funeral services will follow directly after. Interment will be at the Felix Brashear Cemetery in Viper.

Campbell, Everett  
Everett "Gene" Campbell, 77, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the David Simpson Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m., at the residence of Duck and Hattie Stidham in Busy.

Chandler, Matthew  
Matthew "Bo" Chandler, 57, of Hazard, departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at his residence. He was born in Perry County, the son of Juanita Moore Nunley and the late Grover Chandler. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert "Happy" Chandler. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Chandler, of Hazard; mother, Juanita Nunley, of Hazard; three sons, Matthew and Jessica Chandler,of Hazard, Jacob Chandler, of Hazard, and Larry Brandon Holland, of Hazard; Daughter, Amber Dawn Banks, of Hazard; four brothers, Joseph Chandler, of Elizabethtown, Ky., Grover Chandler, Jr., of Ohio, Bennie Chandler, of Hazard, and Jerry Chandler, of Hazard; two sisters, Mattie Banks, of Hazard, and Linda Phillips, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, and funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, with Rodney Smith officiating. Interment was at the Moore Family Cemetery in Upper Second Creek.

Collins, Johnny  
Johnny Collins, 38 of Bonnyman, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Hazard ARH. He was a carpenter for the Decorating Center in Hazard. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Lucy Collins. He is survived by his mother, Debbie and Todd Miller; one son, Johnathon Collins; two daughters, Eva Ella Ann Collins and Julie Lynn Collins; two brothers, Christopher and Kimberly Miller, and Joel Lewis; one sister, Tricia Lewis; fiance', Kathleen Smith; grandparents, Ralph and Brenda Miller; one special aunt, Pat Lewis; as well as a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, and funeral services will follow directly after, with Chad Campbell officiating. Interment will be at the Francis Branch Cemetery in Jeff.

Cornett, Scotty  
Scotty Lynn Cornett, 40, departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born in Hyden, the son of Greg and Norma Cornett Mayhew. He was a life-long resident of Perry County and enjoyed fishing, hunting and four wheeling. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Marlin Cornett. He is survived by his parents, Greg and Norma Cornett Mayhew, of Cumberland; girlfriend, Jessica Sparkman, of Leatherwood; son, Dylan Scott Cornett, of Leatherwood; daughter, Chelsey Lynn Cornett, of Wallins, Ky.; brother, Waylon Mayhew, of Cumberland; sister, Kelly Cockrell, of Bulan; maternal grandmother, Ruby Cornett, of Leatherwood; paternal grandfather, Jimmy Mayhew, of Leatherwood; paternal grandmother, Francis Cantrell, of Harlan; nephew, Kobe Cockrell; niece, Morgan Cockrell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard. Family received friends after 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church at Delphia, and funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m., with John Hamilton officiating. Interment was at the Spencer Cemetery in Cornettsville.

Danner, Bobby  
Bobby Gene Danner, 79, of Hazard, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail courier in Hazard, Walkertown, and Wabaco. He was also a member of Petrey Memorial Baptist Church in Hazard. He was the son of the late Raleigh Danner and the late Minia Davidson Danner. He was also preceded in death by one son, Joshua Danner, and one brother, Tommy Danner. He was survived by one son, Bobby, Jr., and Tabitha Danner, of Hazard; two sisters, Freda Cody, of Hazard, and Sandy and David Patton, of Illinois; three grandchildren, Nicholas Danner, Kalena Danner, and Libby Danner; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers' Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, and funeral services will follow directly after, with Ronnie "Butch" Pennington officiating. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard.

Duff, Lyvenna  
Lyvenna Duff, 69, departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Cardinal Medical Center, in Pineville, N. C. She was born in Hazard, the daughter of Thelma Jones Gayhart and the late Sim Gayhart, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Gayhart, of Bonnyman; two brothers, Carl and Leslie Gayhart, of Bonnyman, and Darrell and Jeanie Gayhart, of Grapevine; nephew, Micah Gayhart; two nieces, Brooke Spicer and Casey Gayhart; and a host of other relatives and friends survive. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 18, and funeral services were held directly after, with Emmitt Campbell officiating. Interment was at the Gayhart Family Cemetery in Bonnyman.

Fletcher, William  
William Taylor Fletcher, 75, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 19, at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. He was born in Breathitt County, the son of the late Courtney Fletcher and the late Elizabeth Lunsford Fletcher. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy Fletcher; and step-sisters, Violet Patrick, Alma Doyle, Ella Feltner, and Sylvester McNight. He was a retired coal miner from Blue Diamond Coal Company and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Della Fletcher, of Viper; two sons, Bill and Sonya Fletcher, of Bonnyman, and James "Bones" and Jacqueline Fletcher, of Viper; two daughters, Marietta "Sis" and Doyle Sumner, of Tennessee, and Carla and Allen Adams, of Viper; step-brother, Charles McKnight; extended family, Marshall Noble; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, and funeral services were held directly after, with Leon Colwell and Karl Baker officiating. Interment was at the Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff.
