Beverly, Everett  
Everett Gene Beverly, 63, of Vicco, passed away on Dec. 10, at the Hazard Medical Center. He was the son of the late Shelvin Beverly and the late Zola Couch Beverly. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Curt and Truman Beverly and two sisters, Fern Messer and Juanita Everidge. He is survived by his wife, Alice Jean Sumner Beverly; two daughters, Rhonda Regina Blevins and Sharon Tessandori; three sons, Everett Daniel Beverly, Joel Beverly, and Adam Beverly; four sisters, Bonnie Lou, Irene Pierce, Brenda Kay Beverly, and Linda Faye Cress; one brother, Alex Beverly; and 15 grandchildren. No public services were provided.

Combs, Arthur  
Arthur Dale Combs, 50, of Hazard, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, and funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Interment followed at the Combs Family Cemetery at Lower Pigeon Roost.

Deaton, Retta  
Retta Campbell Deaton, 72, passed away in Charleston, Ind., Dec. 8. Survived by one son, Toddy Deaton and one daughter, Kimberly Deaton, both of Charleston. Two brothers, Oscar (Fred) Campbell, of Nancy, Ky., and Earl Campbell, of Logan, Ala. Two sisters, Glenna Napier, of Middletown, Ohio, and Cleo Campbell, of Glen-Bornie, Md. A former resident of Perry County, daughter of Oscar and Gypsy Campbell, student and graduate of Buckhorn High School. Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 12, at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, Ind. ​

Elam, Richard  
Richard Joseph Elam, 60, of Hazard, passed away on Dec. 14, at his residence. Elam was owner and operator of Berts Service Auto Supply Company. He was the son of Mearinda Wells Williams and the late Bert Elam. He is also preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Howard. He is also survived by his wife, Judy Elam; one daughter, Jennifer Elam; one son, Tony Elam; stepfather, Clark Williams; one brother, Bert Elam, Jr.; three grandchildren, Kylie Combs, Josie Combs, and Mycha Triplett; and a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, where family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, and funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, with Rev. Butch Pennington officiating.

Johnson, Goldie  
Goldie Jean Johnson, 67, of St. Paul, Va., passed away on Friday, Dec. 12, at her residence. Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, and funeral services followed directly after. Interment was at the Duff Cemetery at Abe's Fork.

Kelly, Mickel  
Mickel Kelly, 70, husband of Charlotte Fugate Kelly, died Monday, Dec. 8, at his home. A native of Lotts Creek, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Lydia Grigsby Kelly. He was a retired SGT 1st Class of the United States Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Mickel S. (Lillie) Kelly, of Sadieville, and Joy (Shawn) Miller, of Greensburg, Ind.; four grandchildren, Autumn Ritchie, Isabella Miller, Madalyn Kelly, and Lucas Mickel Kelly; one brother, Kenneth Kelly; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361. No funeral services are planned at this time. Stewart, Joan  
Joan Marcella Royalty Stewart, 71, of Bonnyman, passed away on Dec. 8, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of Isabelle Hurst Royalty and the late Edward Royalty. She is also preceded in death by one grandchild, Lyndsey Paige Whitaker. She is also survived by two daughters, Dionna (Keenan) Akemon and Nicole Robinson and Darren Lowery; fiance, Hal Hipple; one sister, Barbara (Bob) Pennington; one brother, Dale Royalty; four grandchildren, Sydney (Amr) Ali, Rudy Akemon, Spencer Robinson, and Jordan Robinson; and a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, where family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, with additional viewing at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Ky. Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, at Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, with additional services at 1;30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church. Interment was at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, Ky.

Yonts, Wesley  
Wesley N. Yonts, 93, of Hazard, passed away on Dec. 14, at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Kentucky Power Company. He was the son of the late Martin Yonts and the late Rosie Allifair Johnson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Maulta Sizemore Yonts; two sisters, Rinda Yonts Isaac and Sabrina Yonts Powell; two half-sisters, Della Yonts and Stella Yonts Hall; and five brothers, Mander, Lonza, John Bailey, Lawrence, and Leslie Yonts. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Wes (Carole) Yonts and Charles G. (Sheri) Yonts; three grandchildren, David Bruce Yonts, Daniel W. Yonts, Charles Wesley Yonts; and a host of family and friends. Arrangements were handled by Maggard's Mountain View Chapel, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, and funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, with Elder Paul Turner officiating. Interment will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center.
