Gwendolyn Lee Jones, 60, passed away on Friday, May 23, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard. She was born in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of Garth and Lyda Trimble.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Hazel Trimble; and her maternal grandparents, Albert and Leona Fitch.
She is survived by her parents, Garth and Lyda Trimble, of Hazard; her estranged husband, Roy Jones, of Hazard; one daughter, Alisha and Harold Hughes, of Hazard; one brother, Wendell and Debbie Trimble, of Berea; one sister, Novena Trimble, of Hazard; three grandchildren, Anthony Hughes, Kimberly Hughes, and Austin Hughes; along with a special niece, Catriona Trimble, of Berea; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where family received friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 24, and funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 25, with Mark Combs officiating. Interment was at the Creekside Memorial Cemetery in Big Creek.
