Joyce Ann Rice, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 11, at the Clark Regional Medical Center. She was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late Vernon Sullivan and the late Mamie Woods Sullivan. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clark Rice; great-grandchild, Shadoe Duran Stewart; and two sisters, Linda Sullivan Griffie and Connie Tucker.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony and Kaye Clark, and Brian Scott Rice; two daughters, Vicky Lynn Rice and Sharlene Rice; five sisters, Doris Napier, Midge Jones, Peggy and Tommy Gibson, Betty Becker, and Judy and Arnold Combs; 14 grandchildren, Connie, Tonia, Heather, Jessica, Ryon, Shawn, Melissa, Wayne, Patience, Anthony, Robin, Carly, Carlos, and Zachary; 19 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gage, Natoshia, Chancelor, Haeleigh, Austin, Dawson, Alexis, Madyson, Macy, Noah, Travis, Gracelyn, Joshua, Talon, Shelby, Luke, Londyn and Khloe; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funer Home in Hazard, where the family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, with funeral services following directly after. Interment followed at the Scuddy Cemetery in Scuddy.
