Taylor Spencer, 70, of Hazard, died Thursday, Oct. 10 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was a truck driver for the Coca-Cola Company and the son of the late Tony Spencer and the late Maggie Feltner Spencer. He was also preceded in death by brothers Denver Spencer and Alger Spencer, and sisters Irene Goodson, Emmalene Waddell, and Linda Jean Combs.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Spencer; daughters Patricia Ann Trent and husband James of Hindman, and Teresa Marie Spencer of Hazard; sons Taylor Spencer, Jr. of Glomawr, Thomas Wayne Spencer and wife Tanya of Grapevine, and David Allen Spencer of Richmond; sister Juledine Spencer of Richmond; brother Denzil Ray Spencer of Bonnyman; special friends Gary Godsey and Thomas Chapman; 16 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard. The visitation will be at the Happy Freewill Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14 with Rev. Johnny Akers, Rev. Densmore Goodson, and Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. Interment will be at Carr Fork Cemetery in Knott County.
