General Fugate, 91, of Hazard, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Hazard Health and Rehab. He was a Hazard businessman since 1966 and a WWII Navy veteran. He was the son of the late John B. Fugate and the late Canzalia Fugate.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna and Wayne Davis; two sons, Ronnie and Patricia Fugate and Dennis and Doris Fugate; three sisters, Edith Fugate, Ethel Mitchell, and Fairlena Short; two brothers, Gordan Fugate and Jerry Fugate; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel. Visitation will be held at the New Hope Christian Center where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and funeral services will follow directly after with Danny Ritchie officiating. Interment will be at the Fugate Cemetery in Ball Creek.
