Benny Turner, 66, passed away Tuesday, March 11, at the Hazard ARH. He was born in Perry County, the son of Geraldine Turner Slover and the late Troy Slover, Sr. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos Turner and Bruce Turner, and one sister, Jacqueline Slover.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Renee Baker Turner; mother, Geraldine Turner Slover; son, Joseph Knight; two daughters, Angela Turner and Cheyenne Green; two step-sons, James D. Maggard and Jonathan C. Baker; five brothers, Billy Turner, Troy "Bug" Slover, Jr., Ronnie Slover, Ricky Slover, and Danny Slover ; four sisters, Kathy Slover Whitaker, Jeanette Baker, Barbara Slover Deaton, and Sandra Slover Deaton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.
Arrangements were handled by the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard. Family received friends after 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Potter House Ministry in Walker Branch, and funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, with Donnie Enfusse officiating. Interment was at the Combs Cemetery in Combs.
