Wayne Maurice Davis, 67, of Hazard, passed away on Sunday, May 4, at the VAMC in Lexington. He was a local business owner of Ridgeline Surveys, a United States Army veteran, had signed with Warner Brothers back in the '80s , owned his own recording studio, and had a passion for music throughout his life.
He was the son of the late Beulan Davis and the late Lecy McGee Davis. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Paul Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Davis; one daughter, Sarah and Brandon Edgington, of Lancaster, Ky.; one son, Shane and Lisa Davis, of Hazard; two brothers, Bulan Marion and Elsie Davis, of Virginia, and Charles Vernon and Gloria Davis, of Vanceburg, Ky.; four grandchildren, Tayler Davis, Dylan Davis, Hannah Edgington, and Matthew Davis; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard's Mountain view Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, and funeral services will be held directly after, with Rev. Michael Barnett officiating. Interment will be at Camp Nelson in Nicholasville, Ky., on Thursday, May 8, at 12:30 p.m.
