Benny Ray Davidson, Sr., 69, formerly of Perry County, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a chief clerk for L&N. he was the son of the late Frank Davidson and the late Bertha Marcum Davidson. He is also preceded in death by a host of siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Woods Davidson; four sons, Charles Lee and Gwendolyn Davidson, of Hazard, Frank Davidson, of Denver, Colo., Benny Ray, Jr., and Daniela Davidson, Vine Grove, Ky., and Timothy Paul and Destiny Davidson, of Hazard; one daughter, Debra and Tom Gay, of Oneida; one sister, Billie Faye Pratt, of Hazard; 11 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements were handled by Maggard Brothers Funeral Home, where family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, May 16, and funeral services followed directly after with Rev. Buddy Turner officiating. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Hazard.
