David D. Couch, 65, of Hazard, passed away on June 19, at his childhood home. He was one of nine children of Mahala and James Couch. He lived in Bradenton where he owned his own business and raised his girls, then retired to his hometown of Hazard. He was most proud of his two daughters, Haley Kay and April LeAnn, as well as one granddaughter, Ava Lyn.

He is also survived by sisters Evelyn, Wanda, Linda, Elizabeth, Donna, and brothers Paul and Billy Ray, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Danny.

David served in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Division of the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart among other meritorious badges.

Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Bowling Funeral Home in Hazard, where services will be held there Monday, June 23, at 2 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington KY 40504.
