Ronnie Joe Meeks, 72, died Monday, Oct. 14 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
He was born June 21, 1941, in Pike County, the son of the late Woodrow Meeks and the late Lillian Osborne Meeks. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rose Nell Cable, and stepson Bo Williams.
Ronnie was a member of the Krypton Masonic Lodge No. 905, Hazard Eastern Star No. 145, and York Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Cloay Meeks of Yerkes; sons Steven Meeks of Letcher County and Robert Williams of Krypton; daughters Susan Fields of Letcher County, Karen Wilder of Letcher County, Tina Gray of Manchester, Teresa Walker of Hazard, and Sandra Eversole of Big Creek; 20 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Paul Couch officiating. The interment followed at the Osborne Family Cemetery at Dorton in Pike County. Masonic rites were conducted by the Krypton Lodge No. 905 with Eastern Star rites immediately following by the Hazard Eastern Star No. 145. Military rites were conducted by the Hazard-Perry County D.A.V. Chapter 64.
