Frederika Clore Obituary

Frederika Clore, 78, of Shelby County died at her home Tuesday, April 30, 2013, of Alzheimer's disease. She was a grade school teacher at Campbellsburg and Eminence Elementary schools in the mid 1960s then taught science at the Shelby County East Middle school until retiring to work full time in F & J Clore Distrubutors, the agri-supply business she co-founded with her husband, Jack Clore. One of the first women entrepreneurs in a profession that was male dominated in the 1970s, she earned a reputation as a successful business woman. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She faithfully attended the Campbellsburg Methodist Church, the 1st Christian Church of Shelbyville and Pleasant View Baptist Church. Her compassion, kind heart and keen sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Alan Clore.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Shannon's Funeral Home in Shelbyville.

Mrs. Clore was my first inspirational teacher, because in my eyes, she had it all. Brains and beauty and strength and she taught science. My prayers are with you.

I was so sorry to hear the news of your mom's passing, Alan. Though I didn't hear until yesterday, I'll be thinking of you in coming days and hoping your memories of your mother dispel any sadness you may feel.

Mrs Clore, thanks for being such a wonderful science teacher to a really nerdy boy at the new Shelby County Middle School back around 1969. You were one of my favorite teachers that really made learning fun. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.
