PEAK, HUGH - SHELBYVILLE  
Hugh Dawson Peak, age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a wonderful friend of many, left this world on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was the son of the late Richard and Leona (Hardin) Peak and had been a resident of Shelbyville.. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mable; two sons and one daughter, Gregg Peak (Suzanne) of Owenton, Melanie Blair (Randy) of Pleasureville, and Barry Peak (Leah) of Valrico, Florida; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Peak, Sarah Peak, Kara Blair, Kaitlin Blair, and Josie Peak; and one great-grandchildren, Shelby Peak. He was a graduate of Pleasureville High School and attended Kentucky State University for two years. He was a former resident of Pleasureville. He retired from General Electric in Louisville, where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of the Highland Baptist Church and was a former member of Pleasureville Baptist Church where he had been an ordained deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was an Army Veteran, former Pleasureville Commissioner, and Magistrate of Henry County District 6. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed going camping with family and friends, golfing with Hart Montfort and others, hiking and most sports. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play their sports. During his retirement years, he and his wife of over 59 years would spend the winter in Florida until selling their home in 2014. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Ellcessor and the Rev. Jim Lowe officiated. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial was in Bagdad Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Gideons.

PREWITT, JAMES - SHELBYVILLE  
James Thomas Prewitt, age 94, of Shelbyville, formerly of New Castle, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville. He was a member of the Eminence Presbyterian Church. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Berea College in 1941 and his Master's Degree from University of Kentucky in 1964. He served in Green, Spencer and Henry County as County Agricultural Agent, was a member of the National Association of County Agents, served as a director of Kentucky Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Eminence Rotary Club. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, served in active combat in the Pacific, and was a plank owner of the USS Indiana. He was an Honor Flight attendee and traveled to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cameron and Viola Creech Prewitt, and two sisters, Ruth Sebastian and Mildred Carey. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eileen McDaniel Prewitt, Shelbyville; son, Charles Prewitt (Patricia) of River Ridge, LA; granddaughters, Lee Kresovsky (Joseph) of Louisville and Elizabeth Wells (Nathan) of Chicago, IL; and great grandson, Will Kresovsky of Louisville. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Shannon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Monday at the Lancaster Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Eminence Presbyterian Church, P. O.
