Russell Y. Washburn, age 82 of Lockport, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle. He was born in Lockport and was the son of the late Charles and Rosa Washburn. He was a farmer and member of Union Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Martin D. Washburn (Laura), Pleasureville; two daughters: Janie Washburn, Pleasureville; Rebecca Washburn, Eminence; one brother, Charles Washburn (Mary), Frankfort; one sister, Rosa Mae Washburn, Lockport; four grandchildren: Ashley Henson, Emilee Spencer, Hayley Spencer and Dawson Spencer; two great-grandchildren: Camon Goodrich and Brendan Clubb; several niece and nephews and his companion "puppy dog." He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Washburn and two sisters: Pauline Downey and Stella Winters.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasurville. The Rev. Leon Robinson and Fred Snider officiated. Interment was in Pleasureville Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were the Homestead family and Emory Washburn.
Pallbearers were "Tooter" Arnold, Calvin Beverly, John Craigmyle, Brandon Marshall, Steve Washburn and Keith Winters.
