Ann Powell Cravens, 80, of Bowling Green passed away Tuesday March 4, 2014 at her residence. Ann was born August 8, 1933 in Henry County. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew J. and Clara Forquer Powell, and her brother Dr. A. J. Powell.

Ann was a retired administrative assistant in the English Department from WKU. She also taught high school business courses at Lafayette High School in Lexington and at Chandlers Chapel High School in Logan County. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelors and masters degree and graduated from Bethel College in Hopkinsville. She was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church.
Ann is survived by her husband, Dr. Raymond L. Cravens, two daughters Andrea Cravens Peach (Harold) of Lexington and Alicia Cravens Bitterling (Jeffrey) of Bowling Green; three sisters Joan Rains of Louisville, Sue Hoagland of New Castle and Gene Kirkpatrick (Tom) of Russellville; sister-in-law Janie Powell of Lexington, uncle Billy Forquer (Doris) of Lexington and three grandchildren Ryan Gibbs Peach, Andrew Jefferson Bitterling and Austin Lee Bitterling, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday March 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Living Hope Baptist Church Chapel. Visitation was Thursday 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel and Friday from 12 p.m. until time of services at the Chapel of Living Hope Baptist Church. Private burial was held by the family.
