Coleman Mayfield Sibley

Obituary

Coleman Mayfield Sibley, age 92 of Bedford, died Aug. 28, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. He was the son of the late Oscar and Katie Pierce Sibley. He served during WWII in the United States Army at Okinawa, Japan, receiving a victory medal as well as the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his children, Gwen Higgins and Tom Sibley, both of Bedford.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Bedford Baptist Church. Reverend Drew Oakley and Reverend Andy Murry officiated. Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Interment was in Bedford Cemetery. The United States Army and the American Legion Post No. 9 of Madison, Ind. presented the American flag, performed Taps and provided funeral rites graveside.
Ransdell Funeral Home , Bedford was in charge of arrangements.
