Dean Dyke, age 78 of Pleasureville, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Son of the late Richard and Mamie (Roberts) Dyke, he was a United States Army veteran. He retired from GE and was a member of Drennon Christian Church. He served as a high school basketball referee for 36 years and umpired high school softball for 10 years. Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte "Betty" Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, Toni George and husband, Nick, of Bradenton, Fla.; two sons: Larry Dyke of Pleasureville; Mikal Dyke and wife, Chris, of Indianapolis, Ind.; Stepdaughter, Donna Carden and husband, Breck, of Ballardsville; Stepson, Keith Morgan and wife, Marilyn, of Louisville; grandchildren: Charles and Charlotte Kelsey George, and Cheyenne and Autumn Dyke; and one great-granddaughter, Leella Sloan.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Carl Rucker of Campbellsburg. Burial was in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
