Marjorie Frances Mains Poland, age 99, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Louisville at Signature Health Care, where she had been a resident since 2015. She was born August 8, 1918, in Covington, to the late Olive Florence Hamilton Mains and James Edward "Ed" Mains.
She is preceded in death by her sister Gladys Aline Mains (Porter) Noel (1960). She was also preceded in death by her husband George Henry Poland (1989).
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Deborah Poland Brown (Bob) of Campbellsburg, and Dayle Poland Sims (Lou) of Independence. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Jerry (Kim) Wallace, Holly (Rob) Turner, Tommy (Erin) Wallace, Jim (Katie) Wallace, Marsha Brown, Tim Jahnke and Steve Jahnke. Margie; and 14 great-grandchildren, Marley, Tate and Elle Turner, Trenton Jahnke, Seth, Connor, Adam, Evan and Grant Wallace, Fletcher, Darcy and Griffin Wallace and Meredith and Drew Wallace.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 15, at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. The funeral was at 1 p.m. with burial at Glencoe Cemetary.
Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Glencoe Baptist Church or the Campbellsburg Baptist Church.
